Our theme for the booth was using Mosquito Repellent for dengue prevention, with lemon grass as the main ingredient. There were two products on display,  the mosquito repellent sachets and the lemon-grass infused oil vials. The response from the public was overwhelming. The public showed a great interest in using natural ingredients to make mosquito repellents. We thanked the teachers, the pupil presenters, and the PSG members for the success of our involvement in the event.

2010 SEC CAMP@TWPS

We finally had our FIRST camp from 19th Nov to 21st Nov! The camp was held in school as our purpose was to improve the area surrounding our community garden. We hence created opportunities for our club members to bond and take ownership of the garden. Besides gardening, members also worked in small groups to decorate the different areas surrounding the garden.During the night, we had barbecue, followed by a night walk within the school compound. This is the first time we had a good look at the school's night scene, with the accompany of the sky's moon and star constellations.

Some comments from our members:
Don(3Faith) : It was exciting! I liked painting the wall and playing basketball. And I learnt about the importance of teamwork.
Atirah(6Peace): I was really happy! We helped to keep the environment clean. I hope next time more people joined in the camp and we can have the work done faster.
Darwin(3Grace): It was fun and exciting. I liked gardening, especially loosening the soil to grow new plants.
Aina(3Faith):Painting was fun! I felt like bringing more food to share with the members.
Zulfadli: I enjoyed the camp very much. I liked the teamwork, gardening, night walk, etc. Hope to have even more activities next time.
Muhd Irfan(3 Faith):It was tired but fun. The wall painting was interesting, we worked as a team and got the work done fast and good.
Farihin: The gardening and the painting were interesting. The night walk too, we could see things that we could not see during daytime, this was the first time we stayed in the school at night.

Gardening

Gardening is the practice of growing plants. Ornamental plants are normally grown for their flowers, foliage, overall appearance, or for their dyes. Useful plants are grown for consumption (vegetables, fruits, herbs, and leaf vegetables) or for medicinal use. A gardener is someone who practices gardening.

Simply that? Let's listen to people who developed the love in gardening:

"Earth is here so kind,
that just tickle her with a hoe
and she laughs with a harvest."
~ Douglas William Jerrold,

"Like a big mountain,
a small garden stimulates, restores, and delights us,
just as it poses challenges, promotes mastery, provides exercise and relieves monotony."
~ Winifred Gallagher

"All gardeners live in beautiful places,
because they make them so."
~ Joseph Joubert

"The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies."
~ Gertrude Jekyll

"Earth laughs in flower."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The only thing that endures over time is the 'Law of the Farm.'
You must prepare the ground, plant the seed, cultivate, and water if you expect to reap the harvest."
~ Stephen R. Covey
